SCIS has been in Shanghai since 1996, when they opened on Jiangsu Rd, in No. 3 Girl’s Middle School, previously home to SAS. The school has expanded dramatically since then and can now offer high-quality education in 3 campuses in Shanghai and 1 in Hangzhou. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and governed by International Schools Development Association, a US non-profit organization.
All schools are as part of the school philosophy, small community schools with between 200-400 students, creating a safe and comforting learning environment. The teachers are primarily from the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. SCIS follows a US-based curriculum but adjust this with the best from other English speaking countries’ curriculums such as from Canada and UK and the school can offer classes from pre-school through a full high school program from 2005.
The Changning campus on Jiangsu Rd is an idyllic city school with around 300 students, offering classes from pre-school to Grade 6. They have onsite theatre, playground and outdoor sports facilities such as soccer and basketball. A good choice for those living in downtown Shanghai and do not want 45-50 min bus transport to other international schools offering US curriculums.

Seat Guarantee Deposit (non-refundable) ………………… RMB 20,000.00
Upon acceptance to SCIS, this deposit (which is applicable to the semester or annual fee) will secure the seat. This is due within ten working days of the offer of enrollment or the seat may be offered to another applicant.
